Anbe Diana First Look: Weddings, Chaos, and a Blood-Stained Groom

Anirudh unveils the Anbe Diana first look. Pari Elavazhagan's follow-up to Jama is a family entertainer set in Perambur with music by Bharath Sankar.

Pari Elavazhagan’s Jama turned heads as a sharp, self-made debut where he wrote, directed, and played the lead. For Anbe Diana, he’s carrying the same triple-duty approach into what looks like a very different register: a broad, colourful family entertainer set in Chennai’s Perambur.

The first look, unveiled by Anirudh Ravichander, sets the tone right away. Pari stands centre-frame as a groom with blood splattered across his outfit, looking more shell-shocked than celebratory. Beside him, Ramya Ranganathan beams in bridal white, bouquet in hand, unfazed by the pandemonium around them. Wedding cake toppling, objects flying, a crowd of characters registering every shade of shock and delight. Whatever the story is, the wedding clearly doesn’t go to plan.

Ramya Ranganathan, who appeared in Dhanush’s directorial Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kopam, plays the female lead opposite Pari. The supporting cast brings in actress Roja, returning to a full-length role after a long absence from Tamil cinema, alongside Chethan, YouTuber Paridhabangal Gopi, Ismath Banu, Sudarshan Gandhi, and Sel Murugan.

Bharath Sankar, who scored Mandela and Maaveran, handles the music. Shelley Calist, the cinematographer behind Aruvi, is on camera. Lyrics are by Mohanrajan, Muthamizh, and Baakkiyam Shankar.

Produced by Million Dollar Studios and Neo Castle Creations, Anbe Diana is the seventh production from Million Dollar Studios, whose run includes Good Night, Lover, and Tourist Family. Sathya Karikalan and Yuvaraj Ganesan produce. Shooting has wrapped, and the team is in post-production targeting a summer release.
